I have previously been really impressed with 'Cut Copy'. 'Lights and music' is a really good song, and after hearing about them turning down support places with Lady Gaga amongst others, I really thought they were a band who put everything into their music, being dedicated to what they wanted.
But 'Zonoscope' really isn't that good. It's average at best, and I almost didn't want to listen to it after hearing album opener 'Need You Now'. I carried on despite this, but the album didn't feel like anything new was coming from them.
It also felt almost like a chore having to listen to the tracks, especially when only two songs were under four minutes long.
It seems that 'Cut Copy' have forgotten what they were about.
5/10
